Welcome to the City of Columbus Fire Department.

The Columbus Fire Department's Mission is to save lives, suppress and control fires, provide services such as fire protection, rescue, EMS, fire prevention and education, and other activities as deemed in the best interest of our community.

Columbus Fire Rescue is located in the Columbus City Hall Building at 300 East Maple, Columbus Kansas. The Fire Department Consists of 27 Members: 4 full time drivers, and 23 volunteers. The members of the department collectively hold certifications of Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Emergency Medical Technicians, Vehicle Extraction Technicians, and Hazardous Material Operations. 

The Columbus Fire Department is led by Fire Chief Jason Allison who has been serving with the department since 1992. Assistant Chief Steve Burton Sr. has served the Fire Department for around 20 total years. Steven Burton Jr. serves as the Deputy Fire Chief as well as an Emergency Medical Technician and has been with us since 2004.  Kale Kitterman serves as a Captain and Emergency medical technician. Scot Ash serves as the Lieutenant for the department.
